BRING eventFrom BRING:

We hate waste. We absolutely hate it. And food waste is high up on the list of waste we hate. We have a scary good plan to stop some food waste this harvest season and benefit our watershed at the same time.

We’ve joined up with our friends at WildCraft Cider Works to salvage the forgotten fruit in our own neighborhoods and backyards. On Saturday, October 31, BRING will host “The Scary Fun Community Cider Pressing,” the grand finale of WildCraft’s first ever Urban Orchard Apple Drive.

Bring in the last apples, pears, and other urban fruits of the season to the Planet Improvement Center on Halloween between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. We’ll press some of the fruit into fresh cider for you on the spot.

WildCraft will use the rest of the fruit to handcraft an artisanal cider, slated for release this New Year’s Eve. In the spirit of community stewardship, WildCraft will donate 10% off all sales from Urban Orchard Cider made with fruit from the Community Apple Drive to the Long Tom Watershed Council, caretakers of Eugene’s watershed.
